Red Sky At Night, Sailors Delight

The old adage states “Red sky at night, sailors delight.  Red sky in morning, sailors take warning.”  According to lore, this means when the sky is red at sunset, fair weather is on the way.  When the sky is red in morning, bad weather is coming.  I’ve heard this saying has something to do with atmospheric pressures and light refraction.  Whatever the cause, we find this to be the case more often than not.

Regardless, the view from Banjo tonight was next-level spectacular.  I worked in the cockpit splicing some anchor line when Shannon popped up and noticed the sky.  Tonight’s sunset was one of the grandest we have seen to date.  And it lasted for a comparatively long time.  Sunset watching is a passion for us both.  We hope you enjoy the video.
