Bridgepointe Marina Thanksgiving

Bridgepointe Marina Thanksgiving

Marina events are usually put on by residents of the marina.  This event topped the charts in terms of attendees and food. Thanks go to Tim and Lyle for getting everything going and coordinated for the Bridgepointe Marina Thanksgiving.  You guys did a great job!  We also want to thank the marina itself for allowing us to get together and socialize and enjoy the day.

Great People, and So Much Food

The festivities began around 15:00 as people began trickling in to the clubhouse.  There were about 30-40 people at this year’s celebration and more food that we have ever seen in a single place. Many boaters prepared dishes, resulting an a massive spread.  And in case you didn’t know this secret, boaters are some of the best cooks in the world.

Taking Venus and Sagira For A Run

After dropping off our dishes, I went back to the boat and got the dogs knowing that Thanksgiving is their favorite holiday.  Previously, we took some pictures with the pups on deck while waiting for our food to cook.  Although it was chilly outside, I knew the dogs wouldn’t want to miss Thanksgiving Dinner for the world.  Plus, they are wearing fur coats, so up the dock we went.  Knowing there was going to be a lot of food, I decided to take the girls out to the field to let them get a little exercise.  Chances were god that neither Shannon nor I would be able to take them after we ate.

Setup

After returning from the dog walk, we met Deedee and Eric cooking outside the dock-house.  Since they had already prepared several dishes, they were kind enough to give us a preamble of what was to come.

Getting Started

Meanwhile, a couple people were running late, so everyone decided to go ahead and start with the salads, and other appetizers.  We could have probably stopped eating after this course, but we wanted to taste everything.  We were ready to get our BridgePointe Marina Thanksgiving “eat” on!

Amazingly, there was more food at this event than either of us had ever seen before.

Aftermath

As we all sat in our newly formed food comas, Frank played guitar.  Meanwhile, Susan and QP had a little dance.  Everyone seemed to have enjoyed themselves and there were no shortages of full-belly moans.  Finally, we cleaned up, packed up and divvied out the leftovers, and headed back to our boats for a well-earned nap.

Thanks again to everyone that attended making this celebration such a smashing success.  We are grateful for the opportunity to have met and become friends with so many of you.  We hope you enjoy these snapshots from the Bridgepointe Marina Thanksgiving celebration.  Now that I have officially hit my winter weight, I’m going to go take a long nap.
