Our first Thanksgiving Cooking Aboard
Amidst the hustle and bustle of the holidays, we hope you enjoy pictures from our first Thanksgiving cooking aboard. As a change this year, Shannon and I avoided the roadways and, instead, shared our first Thanksgiving aboard Banjo. Although it was tough not being able to visit family and friends, we rested and enjoyed some down-time. Also, we shared dinner with the other boaters which turned out to be a grand and delicious event. We also took a few minutes to take our first thanksgiving pictures aboard Banjo with the pups. In addition, we had a visit from our cruiser friend, Lee, from SV Etoile de Mer, who was in town after his trip up to Annapolis, MD. We all took some time to catch up and insisted that he stay for the marina Thanksgiving.
Cooking and More Cooking
We spent the majority of the morning preparing dishes to share at the Bridepoint Marina Thanksgiving Celebration. Shannon prepared over 60 deviled eggs, and her world famous cookie bar. I made my macaroni and cheese. In addition, I cooked 5-pounds of my garlic, rosemary, Parmesan mashed potatoes. Shannon prepared the potatoes using our electric pressure cooker, which was fast and made peeling the skin a snap. We ended up cooking a 10-pound bag of potatoes, but used half of them to make potato soup the next day. We were worried there wasn’t going to be enough food, but boy were we wrong. That story will come in a minute.
